Rough Deadline Blog Task

1.1. The first initial concept that has perspective is a layout made out of studio photography, textures and graphics, that visualize the recipe in motion. The textures and the background for the illustrations would be based on studio photography.

1.2. The second concept consists of more illustrative pieces of work combined with pure graphics, that visualise a blackboard and separate grids handing off of it, making the recipe easy to follow.

1.3 The third one consists of having characters that lead through the recipe and its steps.

2.1 Having illustrative style combined with photography works well in cook books. Especially when having children around the kitchen, playfulness increases, so having fun with food is a nice experience with the family. The latter is expressed the best through illustration and studio photography, shaping food into letters, words and sentences is a good way to engage children to have fun, cook and become interested in what happens to food before it appears on the plate.

2.2  Second most important piece of research is more technical than creative: it is very important to get the information into grids, so the children would be easily guided through the recipe and additional information. Considering 5 year - olds only start dealing with text, whereas 7-8 year- olds already deal with paragraphs, there have to be enough sensibility in the children's books to get the little ones not only interested, but stimulate their minds and curiosity.

3. The initial ideas of others in the group made me think of something more interactive, but considering the fact that it would be an e-book, the interactivity is limited. Even though the outcome is has to manifest on a computer, this does not stop me from thinking beyond it, and see how the further development might include something more interactive for kids and their families.
